Simplify Coaching – A Simpler Way Forward.

About Simplify Coaching

Simplify Coaching exists to make life simpler for the person and the people around them. We remove what does not help, reduce noise, and create space for what allows growth. We start by listening to the people who know the person best, then build supports that are practical, human, and easy to use in real life.

Our work is grounded in Positive Behaviour Support that focuses on everyday environments, teachable skills, and calm, consistent responses. We keep plans clear and usable so families and teams can apply them with confidence. The aim is fewer moving parts, stronger habits, and steady progress that feels manageable.

How we work

At Simplify Coaching, we start by getting to know the person and the people who know them best. Families, support workers, teachers, and friends all see different parts of the picture, and together those pieces tell us who the person really is.

We listen first. That helps us understand what life looks like now, what’s working well, and where things feel hard. From there, we use Positive Behaviour Support to create a plan that makes life safer, calmer, and more manageable for everyone involved.

Our plans are built to grow and change with the person. We stay involved, helping families and teams understand why behaviours happen and what to do in the moment. We offer training, debriefs, and practical guidance so the people around the person feel confident and supported.

Our goal is for everyone to have the skills and tools they need to manage well on their own. When that happens, our role naturally becomes smaller, and the person’s quality of life grows bigger.

1. Understanding the Person First We start by listening. We connect with the person, hearing their needs and wants. Its them at the center of the work we do. We speak with those who know them best - families, support workers, teachers, and anyone who plays a role in their life. By gathering different perspectives, we build a complete picture of who the person is - not just their challenges, but their strengths, preferences, and needs. This understanding forms the foundation of every plan we create.

2. Building Safety and Stability Before anything else, we create safety - both emotional and physical. We start with an Interim Positive Behaviour Support Plan, which is our best first step toward stability. It focuses on proactive and protective strategies that reduce immediate risks while promoting dignity and understanding. We don’t rush to “fix” behaviour. We focus on what helps the person feel safe and supported, so genuine change can begin.

4. Collaborating With the Team Effective support is never a solo effort. We collaborate with everyone involved - families, support workers, therapists, and educators - so everyone is on the same page. Our plans are practical, accessible, and shaped to fit the real circumstances of the person’s life. We recognise that time, energy, and emotional capacity vary across families and teams - so we focus on what’s realistic, not idealised.

5. Growing Through Reflection and Training Behaviour support is only as effective as how it’s lived day to day. That’s why we don’t stop at writing a plan - we support its implementation. Through coaching, debriefing, and reflective practice, we help teams build understanding, consistency, and confidence. Each conversation, training session, and reflection is an opportunity to grow - for the person, the family, and the professionals involved.

6. Simplifying Over Time As skills, safety, and understanding grow, our role gradually reduces. We aim to make life simpler by removing what’s unnecessary and strengthening what helps the person thrive. Success for us is when the team feels empowered, the person feels confident, and support becomes part of everyday life - not an external intervention.

Our Vision, Mission, and Values are more than statements , they are the compass we use to find our true north. They shape how we listen, how we plan, and how we support.

We never promise perfection or that we will always get everything right. What we promise is to keep learning and growing with you. When we fall short, we reflect, realign, and return to the values that guide us. This is how we stay true to what Simplify Coaching stands for: understanding, growth, and the courage to keep going.

Our Values : What Guides Us Day to Day

Empowerment - Creating space for voice and choice

Empowerment means helping people rediscover their voice and sense of agency, their ability to influence what happens in their life.
Many have spent years in systems where power was uneven: hospitals, schools, services, and even with professionals like us. They were told what to do, how to behave, or what was best. Over time, their voice quietened.

We help rebuild that voice by listening, even when it’s expressed through a look, gesture, or small shift in body language. For families and support workers, empowerment means understanding why behaviour happens and giving the person a say in their own life.
It’s a shift from control to collaboration, from doing to someone to doing with them.

Growth - Building skills, confidence, and quality of life

Growth isn’t about comparison; it’s about becoming more of who you are. Like the Angel Oak tree, each person grows in their own unique shape, bending, twisting, and reaching toward light in the way that suits their environment.

At Simplify Coaching, we nurture that kind of growth. For the person, it means developing skills and confidence to live more independently and meaningfully.
For families and support workers, it means learning, reflecting, and growing as humans working in a human field, recognising that self-awareness and compassion are as vital as technical skill.

Growth happens through patience and persistence, through practice and reflection. Every setback is an opportunity to learn. Every moment of calm is proof that growth is taking root.

Fulfilment – Finding meaning in connection and progress

Fulfilment comes when life feels meaningful. For the person, it’s belonging, relationships, and joy in everyday moments.
For families and support workers, it’s the quiet satisfaction of knowing their support made a difference, a calmer morning, a smile that wasn’t there before, a sense of peace that grows over time.

Fulfilment reminds us why we do this work. It’s not just about outcomes; it’s about connection and purpose.

Empowerment

Empowerment in mental health means helping people feel stronger and more in charge of their own feelings and life choices. It's like giving someone the tools and confidence to handle their worries, stress, or tough emotions on their own terms, instead of just depending on others like doctors or family.

For example, if someone has anxiety, empowerment could mean learning simple ways to calm down, like breathing exercises, and deciding what help they want, such as talking to a counselor. It helps build self-belief so they don't feel stuck or helpless.

Our Commitment

We are not perfect, and we don’t expect anyone else to be. We make mistakes, learn from them, and grow alongside the people we support. That is our promise: to keep learning, stay true to our values, and realign when we fall short. If we ever do, we invite you to tell us. Feedback helps us grow, too. Together, we can continue to create simpler, safer, and more connected lives for everyone involved. Everything we do is designed for us to become less needed over time. When people and teams grow in understanding and skill, our role naturally becomes smaller, and that’s how we know the work is working.
