Have you felt that most of the time throughout the day, you usually are in an auto-pilot mode? And as a result, you don't really focus on what you are doing? This can make it really difficult to recall whether you actually did something small or didn't? Did I turn the stove off? Did I like the door? This may lead to your anxiety filling up. Then there is the gap in memory about whether you did something or you didn't.
Are there any ways in which you could overcome this problem?
Luckily there is. We all have this storytelling mind of ours, getting in the way of being present with what we are doing. We are either thinking about past or busy wondering what the future will be like. We miss the only time we have, the present moment. That's the key to relieving the anxious mind from its job of making us miserable.
If you have read this far, then, you have experienced this in your own life.
It's great that you are aware of what is causing you anxiety and have a solution-oriented mind, looking for a remedy to your anxiety that isn't a pill.
I heard this tip a while ago, and I thought It's a good time to share it. Treat your day like different episodes of different shows queued together just like Netflix with the few second gaps in between. So say you wake up and shower. That's one episode of the morning show. Then you have breakfast another one. In between these episodes, you get a little pause. That's when you want to become aware and mindful. Close the chapter on the last show and open the door for the next one. Being aware all the time is a very challenging first step. You can start by being present and mindful at the beginning and end of each "task". When one is ended, say to yourself silently "A is done" and go through it in your mind like a movie and see how you've done it. It takes around a minute to go over it, but it helps reduce the anxiety by hours.
